August fishing has been hot!! on August 2nd Mattias, Anna and Kjell brought in 5 coho and one spring salmon.  On August 4th John Bates showed Mike Atkinson the secret spot and came in with a 30 pound halibut.  Good Fishing!!! 

  

The weather has been hot and so has the fishing! The largest spring to date was caught on Father's Day by Joe Roy - a nice 23 lbs spring taken on a hoochy. The
Kilback brothers from Salmon Arm  had some good luck catching Chinooks ranging from 8 lbs to 17 lbs in the past week. Their preferred lures were Army Truck and Purple Haze Hoochies. There are some good low tides this week for beachcombing and wading the tidal pools.

                                           

The 2014 Easter Egg Hunt took place on Sunday April 20th with four unnamed Rabbits hiding eggs through out the Campground.  See if you can guess who they were!!!  One of the bunnies lost their tail and it had to be repined on!!  Harold was captured trying to get some of the eggs before the kids made their dash.

  

 

     

  

     

The spring started early for us with George and Barry McQueen heading out fishing on the 26th of February and George catching a 23 1/2 pound halibut.  Then we were treated  to one of the wonders of Nature with the herring spawning right in front of the campground.  They started on the 1st of March and the spawning lasted for a week or so. 

There were eagles, seals, sea lions and thousands of seagulls feeding on the herring and then a few killer whales were spotted looking for a seal or sea lion to feed on.

Just this last week Easter Bunnies have been spotted checking out spots to hide their eggs and kids big and small are all invited  to look for a few chocolate eggs on Sunday April the 20th at 10:30.

 

The 2013 Annual Bullhead Derby took place on August 4th 10:30 to 12:00 with Avery Favell with a winner of 26 cm long the biggest in a number of years!!

 

Participants...youngest 4 years old
